Introduction

American V-Twin Diagnostics ("we," "our," or "the App") is a mobile application designed to help motorcycle owners and mechanics diagnose fuel injection issues on American V-Twin motorcycles equipped with Delphi EFI systems. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your information.

Information We Collect

Registration is required to use the App. When you create an account we collect:

• Name — Used to personalize your experience within the App.
• Email address — Used for account login, password recovery, important account notifications, and (if you set them up) Smart Service Scheduler maintenance reminders.
• Phone number — Used as an alternative method for account recovery and verification.

If you choose to sign in using a third-party identity provider (Sign in with Apple, Sign in with Google), the App receives the basic profile information (name and email) that the provider releases to it. No additional information is collected through these sign-in flows.

The App also stores the following data on our secure servers, associated with your account so it stays in sync across your devices and the web version:

• Motorcycle (garage) profiles — Year, model, engine type, mileage, and nickname for your saved bike (up to 3 with Premium).
• Diagnostic results — Records of completed diagnostic sessions including steps taken and outcomes.
• Service records & schedules — Maintenance intervals, service history you enter, and any Smart Service Scheduler reminder settings (such as current mileage and chosen intervals).
• Notes — Any personal notes you attach to your motorcycle profiles.
• Subscription status — Whether your account has an active Premium subscription. Payment itself is processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play); we never receive or store your payment card details.

When you use the App, we and our analytics and advertising partners also automatically collect certain technical and usage information:

• Usage & product-interaction data — Screens you view and actions you take in the App (such as starting a diagnostic or saving a bike), used to understand how the App is used and improve it.
• Device & diagnostic data — Device type, operating-system version, app version, and crash/performance information.
• Advertising identifier — On iOS, only if you grant permission through the App Tracking Transparency prompt, your device's advertising identifier may be used to measure the effectiveness of our advertising. If you decline, it is not used for tracking, and you can change this at any time in your device settings.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain the App's diagnostic and reference features.
• Authenticate your identity and secure your account.
• Enable password and account recovery.
• Personalize your in-app experience (e.g., displaying your name and saved motorcycle profiles).
• Send you the maintenance reminder emails you request through the Smart Service Scheduler. You can change or turn these off at any time in the App.
• Verify Premium subscription entitlements with Apple or Google.
• Understand how the App is used and improve its features and reliability through product analytics.
• Measure the effectiveness of our advertising and marketing (on iOS, subject to your App Tracking Transparency choice).

Data Storage and Security

Your account data, motorcycle profiles, diagnostic results, service records, schedules, and notes are stored in a secure cloud database operated on our behalf, and are encrypted in transit. This is what lets your garage and history follow you between the mobile app and the web version. PDF reports you generate are only shared with others if you explicitly choose to export and send them.

Account credentials are handled by industry-standard authentication services and are protected with encryption in transit and at rest. We use secure authentication methods to protect your account from unauthorized access.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not rent or trade it. We share data only with the limited service providers described below, and only as needed to operate, analyze, and promote the App.

We use Meta (Facebook) advertising tools to measure how well our ads perform. Through these tools, certain app-event and device-identifier information may be shared with Meta. Under some U.S. state privacy laws (such as California's CCPA/CPRA), this kind of advertising activity may be considered a "share" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. On iOS this occurs only if you allow tracking through the App Tracking Transparency prompt, and you can opt out at any time in your device settings. Apart from this, your diagnostic data and motorcycle information remain private to you unless you explicitly choose to export and share reports.

Biometric Data

The App offers optional biometric authentication (Face ID or fingerprint) for convenient login. Biometric data is processed entirely by your device's operating system and is never accessed, stored, or transmitted by the App. We only receive a success or failure result from the device's biometric system.

Third-Party Services

We rely on a small set of trusted third-party service providers to operate, analyze, and promote the App. Each receives only the data needed for its function:

• Authentication — Google Firebase Authentication powers account sign-in, including Sign in with Apple and Sign in with Google.
• Cloud hosting & database — Secure cloud hosting and database services store your account data, garage profiles, diagnostic results, and service records.
• Product analytics — PostHog collects in-app usage and event data so we can understand how the App is used and improve it. Session recording is disabled.
• Advertising & attribution — Meta (Facebook) App Events help us measure advertising performance and attribution. On iOS this is governed by your App Tracking Transparency choice.
• Email — A transactional email service (Resend) delivers the Smart Service Scheduler reminder emails you request.
• Payments — Apple (App Store) and Google (Google Play) process subscription payments; we never receive or store your payment card details.

These providers process data under their own privacy and security commitments and only for the purposes described here. If our use of third-party services changes, this privacy policy will be updated accordingly.

Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data stored in the App.
• Update your account information (name, email, phone number) through the App's profile settings.
• Delete your account directly within the App (Account Settings), subject to the limited retention described below.
• Export your diagnostic results as PDF reports for your own records.

Data Retention

While your account is active, your account information, motorcycle profiles, diagnostic results, service records, schedules, and notes are retained so the App can function.

When you close your account (or retire a motorcycle from your garage), we retain a minimal record — your account identifiers (such as name and email), the diagnostic results generated for your motorcycles, and the service records and notes associated with them — for three (3) years. We keep this limited record for legitimate safety, liability, and recordkeeping purposes: the App provides diagnostic reference information for motorcycles, and we maintain an accurate history of what information was presented. After the three-year period, the record is permanently deleted. Diagnostic and service history entries are maintained as written and are not edited after the fact.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically for any changes. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
