How motorcycle spots and credits work
Assignment permanently activates the credit’s included motorcycle-profile benefits, whether or not you run a diagnostic. In the ordinary credit-based flow, the diagnostic allowance remains available until used. Eligible license holders can instead use a credit to open an extra spot beyond their allowance; diagnostics during the active license are covered by the license. A spot holds one profile and its records; archiving does not free it. Existing occupied profiles remain when a license lapses. Included benefits, license-only tools and new capacity depend on your entitlement.

Supported families include Sportster, Dyna, Softail, Touring, Trike and Pan America within their engine and model-year windows, including supported CVO variants. Twin Cam Touring runs through 2016; Dyna and Softail through 2017. M8 Softail starts in 2018; Touring and Trike in 2017. Factory trike coverage starts in 2009.
Not covered: pre-2007 motorcycles, carbureted models, Magneti Marelli EFI, police/fleet models, V-Rod/VRSC, Street/Street Rod (Revolution X), LiveWire, X350 and X440.
Is this useful if my bike is running fine?
Yes. The toolkit includes pre-ride and general health checks, battery testing, motorcycle references and records. Your account also includes an Oil Change Tracker for the motorcycle in your starting spot. Paid access depends on the plan you choose.
Do I need a scanner or special hardware?
The diagnostic method follows symptoms you can observe through guided questions. Nothing plugs into the motorcycle, and the app does not read live sensor data or clear codes. Some checks and repairs require ordinary tools and appropriate experience.
How do I buy and use it on the web?
Download or open V-Twin Diagnostics on iOS or Android, sign in and purchase your plan in the app. Sign in to app.vtwindiagnostics.com with the same account to access your entitlement once the purchase clears. An account is required.
Annual or Mechanics—which one is for me?
Annual is the starting recommendation for riders and home mechanics. Mechanics includes everything in Annual and adds professional intake, comprehensive checks, estimates, catalog-wide torque lookup and service scheduling, plus ten included motorcycle spots.
Does it guarantee the cause of a problem?
No. Guided diagnostics help narrow a probable cause. They do not certify that a component has failed or that a motorcycle is safe to ride. Use the findings to inform the next check or a conversation with your mechanic.
Can I choose a one-time purchase?
Yes. Assigning a Diagnostic Credit activates its included motorcycle-profile benefits even before you need a diagnostic. In the ordinary credit-based flow, its diagnostic allowance remains available until used. Assignment is permanent; credits do not expire through passage of time. Full Annual and Mechanics tools require their yearly licenses. Store refund rules and applicable consumer rights apply.
